OP should try to pursue this through a lawyer if s/he can. For the rest of us, maybe time to think of what we can do together to not face this again in the future. Lot of us are going to be on EAD for a while.

Talking about travel experience, here is one I had at the CDG Airport in Paris..
I was flying back this Dec 31st, 2007 from Dubai and had a 5 hour layover at CDG. I had to go to a different terminal from the one I landed in... and that meant going through security check again at the new terminal.
I placed by carry on backpack on the x ray machine and I was waiting for my bag to at least start moving before I walked through the metal detector. While the ICTS (pvt company) security agent on the othe side signalled me to walk through, i said (in English) that I would like to wait till the bags get into the X-ray machine..
This did not sit well with this ICTS Agent.. He walked past the metal detector and proceeded to shove and push me past the metal detector.. (I forgot to mention that I had knee surgery ~ 20 days back to fix an ACL injury)
I could not believe that I was shoved past a metal detector.. I said to the ICTS agent that he had no right to shove me and I asked to speak to his supervisor.. This made this so called agent more angry and he started to threaten me repeatening "you want to report me"!! His immediate supervisor said that since this was a security issue nothing could be done.. Not willing to give up, I asked to speak the head agent there.. He was a bit more helpful.. he gave me a website and a mailing address where I can write to..(with the details of which gate and what time I experienced this)..
I kept repeating to every supervisor that I did the right thing and their agent did the wrong thing by shoving me..
I was not satisfied with just some addresses and website for the terrible way I was treated. After a while of sitting at the terminal, I went back and I asked that I wanted to file a Police case against the agent. Initially, the agents said once you are in the terminal, you cannot get out.. I spoke to the head agent again who let me get out and gave me directions to the Police booth in the airport.
At the police station, I stood around with Visa violaters for a while.. Eventually, they were able to find someone who spoke halting English.. Since I was not physically hurt, I could not file a Police case against the agent. What I was able to file was something like an incident report (but unfortunately no tracking #)
This was an interesting first hand experience in overt racism.. being treated like crap because the agent thought he could get away with doing that to a South Asian looking person..

how can it be free..when you pay 25/month?
I have vonage service since two years and i am paying 24.99/m since two years for unlimited US, canada and europe. They just added india in the international calling list so isn't it free? I am not paying anything extra for calling to india. I have been with vonage for quality and it is personal choice about which service you use and how much you pay for that. It all depends on usage and how much we spend on calling cards or calls to india. If you spend more than $25 on calling to india than this is a great plan if you have internet connection at home.

Wanted to let everybody know that we received our green cards in hand today. We immediately made a trip to the Social Security office to update the records and get rid of the clause that says "not valid for work without INS authorization". We also signed a new I-9 with the green card.

Non immigrant visa number is the number on your non immigrant visa used to enter the US. Someone posted it is the one in Red - mine appears on the right, towards the bottom. The only other numbr is the control number on my visa

My attorney originally applied for my labor (regular process) in late spring 2006 but due to another issue we decided to expedite (premium process) in early winter 2006. Question is, is early spring my PD or early winter of 2066? (Sorry don't have the exact dates in front of me).

We rode the same wave even last year with many of the same Guru;s predicting the same movement to 2007 and what we saw 2 weeks movement . There was one person called QSHEMK who after that went completely out of the picture or has rejoined with a new name .
Also I have analyzed that people who have a date in 2008 somehow predict that the dates might move to 2008 and people who have a PD of July predict that dates will move to August . This is just an observation and nothing more , and if you go through the threads thats exactly what you will see.
I will be equally benefited as you all will if the predictions come true , but be well prepared for a major heartbreak also like last year .
While it takes a lot of effort from some of the members to crunch such numbers I would be first to extend my sincere gratitude to them for doing this , I would also recommend you all to take the analysis and predictions with a grain of salt and not to raise your hopes too much on these predictions.
It has seldom worked for the last 6 years at least . Hope it does this time . I speak from experience in IV since 2006.

If there are 140K visas then EB3 category will get 140,000%28.7 = 40180
and of these 40180 EB3 India will get just 40180%7= 2812
Folks, only 2812 Visas for EB3 India and EB3 is not going to get any spillover this year!!

For an employment-based petition, in order to proceed and be valid, they need to still INTEND to be employed by the sponsoring employer if and when they get their green card. The employer however, does not need to sign any forms per se with relation to the adjustment petition. If the alien is currently working for the sponsoring employer (on H-1B or other) he or she can port or transfer employers without penalty or without losing the
green card process 180 days after they file the I-485 petition. At that point, they can change employers and work for whomever they wish (provided they have a valid work permit)

On September 25, 2010, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
and for my husband it says

On September 24, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Well, no - my basic argument is that the banks bloated up the 'real' asset value - I had the money then and I have the money now and I am still paying my monthly mortgage amount - the point is about the inflated housing prices.....with these banks knowing the actual value of the asset and still going ahead with the extravagant loans.
From another point of view, tell me 1 reason why would you lend out money to somebody who you know would not be able to pay you back?

You used these 'extravagant loans' knowing that they are extravagant and then signed on the dotted line and now you are backing off saying 'sorry, you gave me a loan on something I wanted and thought what it is worth and it is no more. So take it back'. If you 'have the money now' then pay by all means and don't end the contract that you signed.
I agree banks were greedy. So is punjabi.
And all the argument about returning used goods is no comparison. The bill says that you can return it in a month. Foreclosure is a provision to help people is serious trouble. It is trying to be sympathetic and nice to people who are in pain. It is not something one is entitled to because he couldn't make a profit. :mad:

If someone is a customer of Teleblend, they should contact them and ask them to provide a matching world plan service. Or else you and your friends will switch to Vonage. You will be surprised how fast teleblend will come up with a better plan than Vonage. In this country customer is the king. Vonage is trying to tie you up with an yearly plan. Wait and get Teleblend or other company to give you a better deal and you will save more money. Vonage is banking on being the first and capturing the market for 1 year before others give a better deal. It had to do it because people were switching to Teleblend, Omma or MagicJack. Now it is time for customers to contact these company senior executives and ask them to give you a good plan if they want you to stick with the company.
I contacted teleblend last week regarding the vonage deal. customer service rep said they are working on it. They could not give me any timeline.

If your so called L1 brothers are not helping us by going thru the process.. why the hell do we help them.. Over that, these suckers always try to push us down whenever they get a chance , as they just don't want to and cannot empathize with our situations. People like these are the cause of the most of the trouble that we have everywhere in the world. They should learn, that the whole world follows "How to get in line".

You missed my point entirely. The better thing for everybody is to decouple the namecheck from the green card so that the name check can go on for as long as the FBI desires while you get the green card which can be revoked if the name check fails. To get a large government agency to spin their wheels faster so that some foreigners benefit in a post 9/11 world is a lunatic and impractical way of thinking.
Will all due respects, I did not miss your point; I completely understand it. But the reality is that, GC is one step away from citizenship and all constitutional rights. Even with BG checks if wrong people enter, how worse it would be - even if it is just an "interim GC" - without full BG checks. No sane citizen of any country would buy that kind of argument for his or her country. Rather, if you say 'I would pay for you to do your job better', then
you would have audience.
According to FBI, it is not a pathological procrastinator or diabolically negative to immigration like CIS. Their job is not to count the immigrants, rather to make sure right people come in. They are overwhelmed by the demand and limited by staff numbers. Help them to increase their efficiency by adding more numbers to their staff. Similar arguments went thru the Congress like a cakewalk when USCIS recommended increase in visa/immigration fees: "more fees, more revenue, more employees, more productivity". With CIS, i have no hope for any intrinsic improvement anytime soon even with more millions. But one can still have hopes on FBI.

It is going to be more sadder joke on us, when this flood of new applicants start pulling down the name check process to oblivion.
