As some have mentioned, the Late 2008 Unibody uses DDR3 1067 MHz.
RAM from the 2011 MBP will work fine albeit at 1067 MHz.
I upgraded to 8GB DDR3 1333 in my Late 2008 (was same price as the DDR3 1067) and the same sticks are working fine in the new 2011 MBP.

If you cd into the root of the volume, after you mount it, and then 'ls -la', do you get the same results (no items)?

I need an iBook for my school work (my PC is too big to carry around :P ) so I am getting rid of my PC and DS (I don't play it anymore). I am selling the PC for $520 and the DS for $120. You can probally talk me down in the prices (not too much :P ). Here are the items.

Ok, we are getting somewhere. When I press play after hitting capture now, the video starts playing. When I hit ESC to stop it, it does stop, but nothing happens. no dialog boxes asking me what to name it, and nothing appears in the browser.
The iMovie thing does work, but I'd rather do it "the right way." :)

I'd like to get each clip every time I started to record, and it is too hard to do manually. Should I just get out of this iMovie mindset or is it possible to do this?
Either you pressed the capture now button before the video device was ready, or the device isn't playing. In Either case you can press the capture now, then press play on your camera.

I really enjoyed it. Definitely kept my attention the whole time.
If I had to pick apart anything I'd say the weakest graphic would be the rit dye packaging folding up at :33-:35 but I thought everything else was very strong and appealing.

I' spent most of the weekend editing 16-bit 6MP images in Photoshop CS on my mini, and while it was a little slow when saving and duplicating layers it was still more than adequate. I've got the 1.42GHz mini with 1GB of RAM.
I agree a PM is more suitable and reckon I'll buy one within 12 months but as a cheaper alternative the Mini makes a great stop-gap.

You're stuck with it. Sadly, you're looking at the most expensive Mac Pro RAM, probably of all time, because FB-DIMMs are more expensive, these are no longer produced in quantity, and the machines that use them are outdated.
Transintl (via their still-running holiday special) sells the cheapest ram I've been able to find for mine.

You can use almost anything with a tripod for landscapes, and add in AutoPano Pro if you want to stitch. Macro is a different beast- insects or static subjects? The Tamron 90mm SP Di is a great choice as is the Nikon 105mm, consider the Sigma 150mm macro if you need the working distance.

I tend to do static objects mostly but will occasionally take pictures of the odd insects. But to be honest, I'm not looking for lenses for that until next year when I get some more money. I think that currently I'll be looking lens for landscape for now. Will definitely use pano pro in the future. Been looking at things like that for a while now.

I'm seriously considering an iPad 2 and am leaning towards the 3G as I'd like access anywhere. Trade off of course is that it costs more.
I have an iPhone 4 with the Hotspot feature. Can I use this as an internet connection for the iPad where wifi is not available?
